Defibrillator Servicing

At NKM we understand that as a life saving tool your automatic external defibrillator (AED) needs to be regularly checked and inspected to ensure that it is in working order. When a person suffers sudden cardiac arrest every minute can make a huge difference to their survival. Knowing this, every workplace should have a defibrillator well maintained and easily accessible.
It is recommended that your defibrillator is serviced based on the manufacturers requirements (routine servicing). This will ensure that it well maintained. Our service includes –

  • Functionality testing of defibrillators and connections to check for any damage.
  • Battery and pad check and recorded for compliance purposes and replacement dates

Defibrillator pads must be replaced after use or when expired. Pads and batteries can expire after a number of years and this is why it is important to have them checked regularly.
It is vitally important that your defibrillator is able to be used when needed. It will always be an urgent situation and you need the peace of mind knowing that your defibrillator is regularly monitored and maintained and ready to go.
Our team has one goal, to make your workplaces a safer place to be.

Training Workplace Heart Attacks
Defibrillator Training

Training in the use of defibrillation is recommended for any person with a responsibility for first aid in their workplace and who needs to know more about dealing with a sudden heart attack casualty.
As an addition to first aid training NKM is available to provide training in the use of a defibrillator. Our training is designed to provide vital information on how and why a sudden cardiac arrest can happen and what steps to take to apply an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) with confidence and knowledge, potentially saving someone’s life.
We will provide clear and concise instructions on how to recognise and deal with a suspected heart attack victim using an AED. Our training will include how and where to place the electrode pads, and how to read the equipment to know when a shock is about to be delivered.
This training goes beyond your workplace to everyday living. AED’s are available in many different locations and having the knowledge to use one confidently could be the difference between life or death.
Our team has one goal, to make your workplaces a safer place to be.

Test and Tagging

Under the Australian Standard Guidelines AS:NZS 3760:2022 testing and tagging is recommended to be performed on all appliances used in workplaces. The reason for test and tagging is not only to ensure safety of the workforce but also people in volunteer organisations, community rooms, public areas etc.

At NKM we are trained and qualified to test and tag your appliances. This involves two parts

  • Visual inspection of the appliance for damage
  • Electrical testing of the appliance with a portable appliance tester (pat tester).

Once an appliance has been tested it is tagged with the test date, date for next inspection, the person who tested it and the status passed or failed. As part of NKM’s service we provide you with a test and tag report identifying appliances that need replacing.

Testing and tagging is essential for ensuring the safety of your workplace. It minimises the risk to those coming into contact with an dangerous appliance in your workplace and also minimises risk of an electrical fire.

Our team has one goal, to make your workplaces a safer place to be.
